Private classical piano and voice lessons for committed adult students

For adults who choose music as a meaningful practice

Many adults come to music with a clear inner motivation:

“I’ve always wanted to study music properly.”

“I played before, and I want to return in a deeper, more thoughtful way.”

“I want to improve — not rush, not compete, but really learn.”

“I’m ready to practice consistently, but I want guidance that makes sense.”

Some are starting later in life.
Some are returning after years away.
Some are continuing studies they never fully completed.

What they share is seriousness, curiosity, and willingness to engage with the process.

How I work with adult students

I work one-on-one with adult pianists and singers who want structured, attentive guidance and are ready to take responsibility for their learning.

Lessons are calm, focused, and supportive, with clear direction.

This individualized work is offered in person (where available) and online, and structured to support steady, sustainable progress. Most students work with me weekly, though bi-weekly formats are possible depending on goals and availability.

Lessons integrate:

  • Fundamental technique, built carefully and sustainably

  • Repertoire study, chosen to support musical growth and personal interest

  • Intentional practice strategies, so time at the instrument is effective

  • Focus, coordination, ease of breath, and efficient use of the body

  • Musical understanding and expression, developed step by step

There is no rush, but there is progress.

This is not about talent or past experience. It is about showing up consistently and learning how to work well.

Students often notice:

  • Greater clarity in practice

  • More ease and reliability in playing or singing

  • Increased musical understanding

  • A deeper connection to the music they study

The goal is steady, grounded development.

“Working with Shimrit was a meaningful and transformative journey for me.
We returned to the foundations, breath, support, and clarity, and through her patient, focused guidance I gained strength, precision, and confidence in my singing.
Even though I had studied voice before, the combination of her work as both a pianist and a singer helped me connect more deeply to my classical repertoire and prepare to sing for an audience with much greater ease.”

Not sure if this is the right place to start?

A short conversation can help clarify your goals, experience, and expectations.

Please share a few words about your musical background

and what you would like to work on.

Frequently Asked Questions

Do I need prior experience to start?
No. Some students are returning after many years; others are starting fresh as adults. What matters most is your willingness to practice thoughtfully and engage with the process.

I am busy, how much practice is expected?
Practice time is adapted to your real life. What I ask for is intentionality: focused, well-designed practice rather than long, unfocused hours. Even limited time can lead to meaningful progress when used well.

Is this suitable if I don’t want exams or competitions?
Absolutely. This work is not about external pressure. It’s about developing clarity, musical understanding, and expressive freedom. Your goal could be personal fulfillment, refined musicianship, or preparing a piece you truly care about.

What makes your work with adults different from standard lessons?
We don’t just “work on pieces.” We build a clear framework: how to practice, how to listen, how to solve musical and technical problems, and how to express something personal through the music. Adults often value this depth, and that’s where I focus.

What kind of commitment do you expect?
Consistency, openness, and care for the process. You don’t need to be perfect, but you do need to be present, curious, and willing to engage seriously with your music.
